Welcome to the JCC Adult Department

THE SHIMON AND SARA BIRNBAUM JCC ADULT DEPARTMENT is the place to find premiere educational, social, recreational and cultural programs for adults of all ages and abilities in the Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties community. Our engaging programs are infused with Jewish heritage and values and are open to all.

Whether you are looking to participate in the things you already love to do, or are looking for a connection to new people and new experiences, the JCC is the place for you!  From trips to Broadway to Mah Jongg Tournaments, from enlightening authors and guest speakers to getting together to play Bridge, the JCC is your home away from home for socialization, cultural and educational experiences.

What's Newish

VIRTUAL AND FREE

Join us every Wednesday from 9-10 AM, EST from the comfort of your own home!

What’s Newish  — now in its third year —  is a current events discussion group that meets weekly via Zoom, and includes participants both from the United States and Israel. Everything is discussed, from items related to Israel and to the Jewish community. Occasionally, we have guest speakers who cover topics relating to great things that are being done in Israel, politics and scientific advances.

Prior to the Wednesday program, you will receive a newsletter of what will be discussed, a weekly Jewish joke, and the Zoom link and password for easy access to the program.

The program is facilitated by Peter Hercky and Doron Steger and meets every Wednesday.  What’s Newish is free to all!

If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Kopman, JCC Adult Program Director:  LKopman@ssbcc.org or 908-443-9009.
