The ten days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are commonly known as the Days of Awe (Yamim Noraim) or the Days of Repentance. This is a time of repentance, reflection, and renewal. Common family celebratory practices include lighting candles, and eating a traditional Rosh Hashanah meal, which usually includes apples and honey: sweet foods to welcome the sweetness of the year ahead.
