The Irma Horowitz Film Series will be showing the film, “Theodore Bikel: In the Shoes of Sholom Aleichem” Thursday, December 12 at 6:30 PM at the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center in Bridgewater. The program is supported by the Irma Horowitz Endowment Fund and is offered through Jewish LIFE (Learning Is For Everyone), a community-wide Jewish adult education program serving residents of Somerset, Hunterdon & Warren Counties.

The film, “Theodore Bikel: In the Shoes of Sholom Aleichem”, combines Bikel’s charismatic storytelling and masterful performances with a broader exploration of Aleichem’s remarkable life and work. Following the film, there will be a discussion led by Aimee Ginsburg Bikel, widow of Theodore Bikel and Director of the Theodore Bikel Legacy Project. Ms. Ginsberg Bikel is an American-Israeli writer, journalist, public speaker, and a veteran of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The community is invited to attend the program. The registration fee is $18 per person and includes the film and falafel dinner. Attendees may register online or call 908-443-9018.
