The Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center (JCC) located at 775 Talamini Road in Bridgewater, will be holding an Open House for JCC Camp Ruach and the JCC Blaustein Early Childhood Center on Tuesday, February 23 from 5:00-7:00pm. JCC Staff will be available to provide tours of the JCC, its preschool and camp, and special savings will be offered for new registrations. The JCC is offering $100 off for new registrations for the JCC Blaustein Early Childhood Center, and $100 off on new registrations for JCC Camp Ruach received on February 23, 2016. The JCC Blaustein Early Childhood Center offers programs for ages 6 weeks through Full Day Kindergarten. Preschool and child care hours are 7:30 am – 6:00 pm. Year-round programs are available. Academics, swimming, physical education, music and Jewish holiday celebrations are part of the curriculum. Every classroom has a certified teacher with assistants and a high staff-to-child ratio. Parents can choose to enroll children in afterschool enrichment classes such as Dance, Yoga, Legos, Karate, Soccer and Tumbling. The JCC also offers half-day AM and PM Kindergarten Enrichment extension programs with public school busing provided from Van Holten and Hamilton Elementary Schools in Bridgewater. Camp Ruach offers a nine week program for campers 15 months old through Grade 10 from June 27 – August 26. Registration is available for four weeks or more. Preschoolers have multiple scheduling options to meet individual needs. The camp is located on 14 acres and has three swimming pools — indoor and outdoor — four sports fields, climbing wall, bouldering wall, high and low ropes courses, mini-golf course, portable skateboard park, great indoor facilities including a gymnasium, enclosed game room and much more. Activities include Swim Instruction and Swim Team, Karate, Archery, Zip Line, Sports, Gymnastics, Arts & Crafts, Musical Theatre, Cooking and Weekly Entertainment. Camp Ruach features a high staff to child ratio, and includes transportation to/from the JCC. Lunches, Early Care and Late Stay are also offered. Road Rulz Teen Travel offers five journeys a week for Teens entering grades 7-9, (two week-long adventures and multiple one-night trips). New in 2016…Road Rulz Plus for Teens entering Grade 10, offering three two-week trips. The Leadership In Training (LIT) program for campers entering Grades 8 and 9 combines learning to be a community leader, working with campers, and enjoying a weekly trip. Sababa, a program for 7th and 8th graders, offers two day trips per week and on-site programming 3 days week; and Chaverim, is an individualized program for campers with special needs. Limited space is available in the Road Rulz and LIT programs. A post camp week is open to campers in Grades K – Grade 6 from August 22-26 offering a variety of specialty camps including On the Court Basketball, ArtsTech Creative Theater, School of Rock and Bricks 4 Kidz Legos.
