The Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center (JCC) is hosting its Sixth Annual Prom for Adults with Special Needs, Saturday, November 16 from 7-10 p.m. The Prom is open to adults ages 18 and older with special needs. The event will be held at the JCC, located at 775 Talamini Road, Bridgewater. The admission fee is $25 per person and $10 for staff or family support. Fee includes buffet dinner, dessert, soft drinks and dancing with DJ Marie. Gluten free meals are available to those who need them. The prom theme is Winter Wonderland. The JCC offers a variety of special needs programs including The J-Zone Respite Program for children ages 5-16, J-Cares Adult Intern Program, J-Connect Social Programs for Adults, Adaptive Aquatics Skills Program and the Rising Tide Special Olympics Swim Team. The JCC Blaustein Early Childhood Center, JCC Camp Ruach and J-Crew After School Program work with families with children with special needs. The JCC offers adjusted schedules and one-on-one assistance. The Adler Aphasia Center Support Groups also meet at the JCC.
